TRiO Programs
• Increase college retention and graduation rates for
eligible participants
• Foster an institutional climate supportive of low
income and first generation college students and/or
college students with disabilities
• Funded to serve 320 students (200 Classic and 120
STEM)
• Services begin immediately after approved
application
Program Goals
Citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
Undergraduate student at the University of Memphis
Have a need for program services
Meet one or more of these requirements:
 First generation college student
 Income eligible
 Documented disability via the Office of Disability Services

college AND graduate with a minimal
debt load by participating in TRiO SSS
