Problem of existing message tables
• Current MAC message table in D7 is confusing
– Ambiguity in array representation
– Ambiguity in condition of each parameter
– Not easy to reflect ASN.1 design philosophy using
a table
Suggestion on the table format
• A 16e-like table format
– Use if/else statement in the table for conditions
– Use for-loops for arrays
– Separate ASN.1 design philosophy from the tables
• Resolve technical issues using the tables
• Easier for ASN.1 experts to understand the message
design and ASN.1 translations
• ASN.1 development goes parallel with
message table cleanup
– Interactively until two converge with each other
Suggestion on the next step
• There are many MAC messages
– Require cooperation among members for the
table reformatting task
