First Commissioning
Longitudinal Feedback working successfully. Currently
implemented as 3 different feedbacks
DL1 Energy (or to Spect. Dump)
DL2 and BC2 Energies
DL1, BC2 Energies + BC2 Bunch length
Injector Launch Feedback working successfully
Feedback framework allowed significant configurability
during commissioning.
Developed a good working relationship with physicists
(J. Frisch, J. Wu) and good understanding of feedback
systems for LCLS

Feedbacks for Phase II
Decision: Feedbacks implemented in framework will be
‘EPICS only.’
Additional Feedbacks in MATLAB
Bunch Charge
Longitudinal will expand to include BC2 Energy and BC2
Bunch Length
We have 3 EPICS BPMs for longitudinal; allows 5x5 fully

New Requirements
Create a more production oriented feedback system
Separate ‘Configuration’ from runtime feedbacks.
Make feedback controllable from any kiosk
Display more status and enhance alarms
Automatically switch configurations
Make feedbacks detect beam line conditions and switch configuration
accordingly
For example, TD11 stopper status, magnet power supply settings, etc
Add weighting factors to transverse feedback algorithm
Add a mask matrix to longitudinal feedback algorithm
Runtime adjustment of gains, weighting factors, mask matrix
Place these in soft IOC so they can be changed while feedback is running.
