2008 UNSD Survey of National
Gender Statistics Programmes

UNSD conducted the Survey during the first
quarter of 2008.
Questionnaires were sent to statistical offices
with the request to consult with others in the
office, national women machinery, and any
other offices or agencies involved in the
development of gender statistics.

Capacity Building:
Training Experience
• 60 out of 122 indicated that the person
completing the questionnaire or else
working in their organization had
participated in some form of training on
how to incorporate gender concerns into
the production, dissemination, analysis
and use of statistics through either short or
long term training workshops.

• 47 countries indicated that they have
some affiliation with a statistics training
institute or center.
