ISOC/SVAC Instrument Analysis Meeting, May 26, 2006 Announcements Anders W. Borgland Science Verification, Analysis and Calibrations / ISOC Anders W. Borgland 1 ISOC/SVAC Instrument Analysis Meeting, May 26, 2006 LAT@NRL • Cosmic ray data taking at NRL: – Trigger rate about 70 Hz lower than at SLAC – Thicker roof on the building .... • List of cosmic ray runs: – LAT NRL '06 Anders W. Borgland 2 ISOC/SVAC Instrument Analysis Meeting, May 26, 2006 Reprocessing • Started! – Finally! • All runs in the runs list will be reprocessed: – LAT April/May '06 • All NRL cosmic ray runs will be: – Reprocessed or – Taken directly with the new EngineeringModel release • Will take of the order of 10 days to finish: – Depends on NRL – NRL data is being processed in the same pipeline • How do you know if your favorite run has been reprocessed? – The Root file name will contain 'v3r6p2' – We start at the top of the runs list and work our way through it • Afterwards: – Will reprocess using the muon hypothesis: – Not all the runs Anders W. Borgland 3 ISOC/SVAC Instrument Analysis Meeting, May 26, 2006 Monte Carlo • Just started! – Using the same release as the data – Will finish over the weekend. • Usual samples: – Surface muons – All gamma: 10 MeV – 20 GeV • If you need anything else: – Let me know! Anders W. Borgland 4 ISOC/SVAC Instrument Analysis Meeting, May 26, 2006 EngineeringModel v6r070329p16 • Major improvements: – Calibrated ACD quantities – CTB variables available in Merit – Better error decoding From data report: ACD MIPs (here path length corrected) Plot from Eric! Anders W. Borgland 5 ISOC/SVAC Instrument Analysis Meeting, May 26, 2006 New Error Decoding Data report: Made for each run! Much better error decoding thanks to Heather! Can now distinguish TKR FIFO full from other (real) errors. Anders W. Borgland 6 ISOC/SVAC Instrument Analysis Meeting, May 26, 2006 Useful Things To Know About The Data • I try to keep an updated list of issues that affect the data quality: Anders W. Borgland 7 ISOC/SVAC Instrument Analysis Meeting, May 26, 2006 Data Analysis • Reprocessing under way! • Calibrated ACD quantities finally available in the SVAC ntuple! – Learn how to use the ACD in your analysis! • Context information: – See next talk – Now available in the SVAC ntuple! – You now have all the time and event counters you will ever have! – Learn how to use them! • Data reports: – We make a Digi and a Recon data report for each run! – If you see something strange in a run, check the corresponding report. Look at the data! Anders W. Borgland 8
