SPRING CROSS TRAINING
FOUNDATION MISSION
The DSC Foundation is a direct support organization
of Daytona State College founded in 1974.
Its purpose is to provide financial assistance to
students as well as funding for faculty, programs, and
capital support. It fills the critical needs that are
beyond the scope of the college’s regular budget.

FOUNDATION HISTORY
•
The Daytona State College Foundation is a not-for-profit, Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3)
corporation to serve as a direct support organization of the College.
•
It was formed in 1974 and remains exclusively to benefit the educational endeavors of the
College.
•
The Foundation embraces the concept of the College mission as adopted by the District
Board of Trustees and has provided financial assistance to students, as well as funding for
critical needs, that are beyond the scope of the College's budget, which directly or
indirectly benefits students.
•
Management of Foundation affairs is vested with a self-perpetuating Board of Directors
from the community that the College serves. Directors receive no compensation for their
services.

Scholarship selection committees (volunteers) review student applications
Volunteers always needed

Scholarships announced every semester
Online application
Student eligibility based on student information matching with donor criteria
Marketing includes:

 Posters/Flyers distributed at all campuses
Post Awarding:
Scholarship Application review by Faculty/Staff Volunteers
Scholarship Awarding
Student thank you notes
Acknowledgement to Donor of Funds allocated to students

Each year we conduct an Annual Fund Campaign directed to
board members, trustees, alumni, faculty, staff and the general

FINANCE & INVESTMENT
• Invest and manage the Foundation’s financial assets according
to established policy;
• Recommend investment and spending policy to the Board;
• Determine annual amounts available for scholarships and
program support.
• Review the investment policies every year or if needed when the
markets change radically
