students to attend UCF
Helps students prepare for bachelor’s degree
program while attending one of the participating
Central Florida community or state college

Why is DirectConnect to UCF
important?
 Increased DSC student persistence to A.A./A.S. graduation
 Increased guidance to DSC students in academic, financial aid, and career
decision-making
 Increased academic synergy between our institutions and student professionals
 Increased student preparedness for post-college life
 Partnership opportunity between both institutions’ student support services
 It is an institutional relationship dedicated to opportunity and success for all
Volusia and Flagler county residents.

If the University of Central Florida (UCF) is transfer
destination….
Sign up for DirectConnect – www.directconnecttoucf.com
Earn AA or Articulated AS degree at DSC (AS degree
seekers must check to see if program is Articulated with
UCF – not all AS degrees transfer to UCF)
With an AA or and Articulated AS degree, student is
guaranteed admission into the University of Central Florida
as part of DirectConnect election. Without degree, no
guarantee of admission
Before Transferring to UCF
Meet with Daytona State College’s Academic Adviser
to identify educational plan (0 to 15 credit hours)
Between 15 to 30 credit hours, meet with UCF
DirectConnect Coordinator (located on the UCF
Daytona Beach campus – Building 140 / Room 107)
Complete Pre-Requisites
Complete program pre-requisites as part of the
AA/AS
Examples of program pre-requisites:
Biology – BSC 1010, BSC 1011, MAC 2311, STA 2023,
CHM 1045 & 1046, PHY 2048 & 2049
Nursing – BSC 1085, BSC 1086, MCB 1010, CHM 1025,
PHY 1012, DEP 2004, STA 2023, and HUN 1201
Psychology – BSC 1005 or BSC 1010, PSY 1012, DEP
2004, and STA 2023
Is program limited access? (i.e. Nursing)
Foreign Language
Earned articulated AS degrees do not require completed
Foreign Language at the time of application.
Some programs require foreign language for UCF
graduation as follows:
 Certain UCF majors require 2 years of the same foreign language in
high school with “D” or better
 Other UCF majors require 2 semesters of college level foreign
language with “C” or better
 While some majors accept American Sign Language (ASL)

Apply online to the University of Central Florida
up to one year prior to semester

Applying for Financial Aid
Free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
