一、組合句的主詞必須相同




用來組合的每個句子一定要有相同的主詞。
Ex. Tony was driving 140 kilometers per hour
on the highway.
The highway patrol gave Tony a ticket for
speeding.
Driving 140 kilometers per hour on the
highway, the highway patrol gave Tony a
ticket for speeding.
二、句型的變化



Computers are a product of modern
technologies.
Computers save a lot of labor costs.
(1)Computers are a product of modern
technologies, and they save a lot of
labor costs.


(2)Computers, which save a lot of labor
costs, are a product of modern
technologies.
(3)Computers, saving a lot of labor
costs, are a product of modern
technologies.
三、分詞片語的位置




句首、主要主詞之後、或句末。
Ex. John’s brother was hit by a
motorcycle.
His brother was hospitalized.
(1)Hit by a motorcycle, John’s brother
was hospitalized.


(2)John’s brother, hit by a motorcycle,
was hospitalized.
(3)John’s brother was hospitalized, hit
by a motorcycle.
四、分詞的選擇






現在分詞V.S.過去分詞
現在分詞通常用來表示事情的同時或幾
乎同時發生
分詞子句為北被動語態要用過去分詞
Ex. Anita was crossing the busy
intersection.
She found a one-thousand-yuan bill.
Crossing the busy intersection, Anita
found a one-thousand-yuan bill.



Ex. Karen was cheated by a salesman.
She was very upset.
Cheated by a salesman, Karen was very
upset.
五、分詞片語的選擇




把後發生的動作保留起來作主要子句:
Ex. Allen has drunk too much coffee.
He feels edgy around people.
Having drunk too much coffee, Allen
feels edgy around people.
六、分詞的修飾





1.用否定字或副詞來修飾
2.否定修飾
Ex. Paying attention(肯定)
Not paying attention(否定)
Not paying attention to the lecture,
Fred did not know what the professor
was talking about.





3.副詞修飾
Ex. Made by hand
Made by hand carefully(副詞修飾)
OR made carefully by hand
OR carefully made by hand
Carefully made by hand, the rug is a
work of art.
