Transcript Prepositions AL and DEL

The prepositions “AL” and “DEL”
The preposition a means ‘to’ or ‘towards’.
When used with the article ‘el’ the contraction ‘AL’
(‘a’ + ‘el’ = ‘to the’ ) is formed due to the
pronunciation. ‘a’ + ‘el’ sounds like ‘al’’ The ‘a’ is
not contracted when used with ‘la’, ‘los’, or ‘las’
since the sounds do not run together.
