Introduction
 Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) is an image
reconstruction technique in which the electrical conductivity
of a conducting domain is reconstructed from the surface
potential developed by injecting a current signal at the object
boundary.
Introduction
A medical EIT schematic: Electrode array attached to the patient’s body
Introduction
 Advantages




non-invasive
non-radiating
non-ionizing
inexpensive
 Disadvantages
 poor signal to noise ratio
 poor spatial resolution
 can not measure the absolute impedance of the subject
Purpose
 Modifying previous EIT system
 Modifying previous voltage controlled current
source (VCCS)
 Integrating complete EIT system
