Abstract
•
A lens accessory for a video game sensor device and a method of adjusting a sensing
distance of a video game sensor device. A lens accessory for a video game sensor
device includes a first lens configured to cover an infrared light emitter of the video
game sensor device, a second lens configured to cover an infrared light receiver of the
video game sensor device, and a body portion coupling the first lens and the second
lens together, the body portion being removably attachable to the video game sensor
device, and the first lens and the second lens having a magnification for adjusting a
sensing distance of the video game sensor device.
Background
•
As the computer gaming market continues to grow, improvements to existing
gaming systems as well as new systems are introduced. One computer gaming
device recently introduced to the market is the KINECT sensor device for use with
the XBOX 360 video game platform, both produced by Microsoft Corporation.
KINECT is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, Wash. XBOX 360 is a
registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, Wash. The KINECT
sensor device allows a user to control and interact with the XBOX 360 through the
use of gestures and spoken commands, without the need to touch a game controller.
The KINECT sensor device uses an infrared depth sensor for three-dimensional
motion capture of a user, and the user must remain within a certain range of
distance from the sensor device, depending on the user's body height.
Background

In addition to the computer gaming market continuing to grow in popularity, with
the increasing transportability and the decreasing costs of video game systems and
video display devices for use therewith, it has become common to play video games
in a variety of locations other than one's living room. For example, a user may wish
to play a video game in a small space, such as in an office, a vehicle, or simply a
small room, where physical constraints require that the user be in close proximity to
a sensor device of the video game system. As such, for use of some systems
including a video game sensor device such as the KINECT, it is desirable to be able
to adjust a playing distance between the user and the video game sensor device.
Claims
1.
A lens accessory for a video game sensor device, the lens accessory comprising : a first
lens configured to cover a lens of an infrared light emitter of the video game sensor
device ; a second lens configured to cover a lens of an infrared light receiver of the
video game sensor device; and a body portion coupled to at least one of the first lens
and the second lens, the body portion being removably attachable to a casing of the
video game sensor device housing the infrared light emitter and the infrared light
receiver there in, wherein the first lens and the second lens have a magnification for
adjusting a sensing distance of the video game sensor device.

A video game sensor device comprising : an infrared light emitter configured to emit
infrared light ; an infrared light receiver configured to receive infrared light; and a
lens apparatus comprising a first lens covering a lens of the infrared light emitter and
a second lens covering a lens of the infrared light receiver, the first lens and the
second lens having a magnification for adjusting a sensing distance of the video game
sensor device.

A method of adjusting a sensing distance of a video game sensor device, the method
comprising : providing first and second lenses having a magnification for adjusting
the sensing distance; and covering a lens of an infrared light emitter of the video
game sensor device with the first lens, and covering a lens of an infrared light
receiver of the video game sensor device with the second lens.

Abstract

A cover for a video game controller for precision gaming therewith, the cover
being formed as a holster defined by opposing lobes for seating the respective
lobes of the controller, with a central strap joined integrally on one side of the
holster and fastenable around it by opposing hook and loop fastening pads. The
cover is defined by one or more stretch fabric insets to impart a degree of
resiliency, thereby ensuring a taught form-fitting configuration. The cover fabric
is a two-layer or three-layer sandwich with faux leather exterior and optional
padding. The combination of the elastic inset(s) and adjustable fold-over strap
afford a snug tailored fit for precision gaming with Xbox360™, Nintendo Wii™
and PlayStation 3™ controllers, among others, either cable or wireless versions.

The invention relates accessories for electronic games and, more particularly,
to a game controller cover having a trim, taut, skin-tight, form-fitting
construction to improve the tactile feel of the game controller.
Claims
1.
A cover for a video game controller having a left-hand lobe, right-hand lobe,
and central portion with opposing thumb controls, comprising : a holster
formed of three overlying layers including a vinyl faux leather exterior layer,
a padded middle layer and an inner vinyl gripping layer, said holster being
defined by opposing lobes for seating said left-hand and right-hand lobes of
said controller; a central strap formed integrally with said holster and
extending upward between the opposing lobes thereof, wrapping up across
the central section of the controller and overtop; opposing hook and loop
fastening pads, one mounted on the distal backside of said strap and one on
the backside of the holster for securing said strap around said controller; a
stretch fabric inset fully interrupting said strap to impart a degree of
lengthwise resiliency; a pair of gussets interrupting the backside of said
holster, each said gusset comprising a triangular stretch-fabric section sewn
into a triangular cutout in the rear of the controller cover between said
central strap and said lobes; whereby said controller cover is affixed to said
controller in a taut form-fitting configuration by seating the controller in the
holster and pulling the strap up and around back, pulling taut, and pushing
the strap against the controller.

controller cover and overtop; opposing hook and loop fastening pads, one
mounted on the distal backside of said strap and one on the backside of
the holster for securing said strap around said controller; a pair of stretchfabric gussets interrupting the backside of said holster, each said gusset
sewn into a cutout in the rear of the controller between said central strap
and said lobes; whereby said controller cover is affixed to said controller

Abstract
• A portable electronic device includes a first housing, a second housing to the first
housing, a circuit board, a display module, a touch panel, a near field
communication (NFC) module, and a NFC antenna. The circuit board, the
display module, the touch panel, the NFC module and the NFC antenna are
orderly mounted in a space between the first housing and the second housing.
The NFC antenna is set around the touch panel or at one side of the touch panel
or the NFC module.
Background
•
NFC technology has become an increasingly popular form of connectivity
technology. A portable electronic devices integrated with NFC function
usually includes an NFC module connected to an NFC antenna.
The NFC antenna includes a plurality of coiled wire loops connected to
the NFC module. The NFC antenna is commonly mounted at an inner side of
a rear housing of the portable electronic device. However, metal elements
such as logos on rear housing may interfere with signals transmitted by
the NFC antenna. In addition, when the portable electronic device is held by
the user or put on a desk, signals transmitted by NFC antenna can be blocked
by the hand of the user or the desk. Thus, the portable electronic device may
have a weak and unstable NFC communication quality. Therefore, there is
room for improvement within the art.
Claims
1.
A portable electronic device, comprising: a first housing ; a second housing
assembled to the first housing; a circuit board; a display module; a touch panel; a
near field communication (NFC) module; and a NFC antenna; wherein the
circuit board, the display module, the touch panel, the NFC module and
the NFC antenna are orderly mounted in a space between the first housing and
the second housing, the NFC antenna is set around the touch panel or at one side
of the touch panel or the NFCmodule.
