


Abstract- In this paper, an internal planar monopole
antenna for use in WUSB dongle application Is proposed.
The planar antenna consists of amodified meander-strip
and an inverted L-strip.
The impedance bandwidth of proposed antenna Is enhanced
by
the
mutual coupling between the
modifiedmeander-strip and inverted L-shape strip.

The proposed antenna consists Of an inverted L-shape strip
and a modified meander strip. The ground plane is printed
on the bottom layer ofFR4 substrate (20 mm x 41 mm x 0.8
mm, Er =4.4). The inverted L-shape strip is integrated on
the bottom Side Of FR4 substrate and is connected with
ground plane.
The modified meander strip is placed on the top side with
height Of 1mm. The modified meander strip consists Of a
meander line with a folded line. It is fed by a 50 Q
coaxhole while inverted L-shape strip is connected to the
ground
plane. The proposed antenna occupies a compact volume Of 10
mm x 20 mm x 1 mm, which allows it to be easily concealed
within the casing Of the general USB dongle as an
internal antenna.ial cable through via

模擬結果


Figure 2 shows the return loss
characteristics of the proposed
antenna in each stage of the
manufacturing process. To obtain
the wideband characteristic,
inverted L-shaped strip was
placed on the ground plane.
The wideband performance is
obtained by the mutual
coupling between the
modified meander strip and the
inverted L-shaped strip.

Figure 3(a) shows the simulated
return loss characteristics Of the
proposed antenna for various values
inverted L-shape strip length(W1).The
variation of the inverted L-shape
strip length provides the tuning
capability for upper band
resonance frequency without affecting
the return loss characteristics in
lower band. By adjusting the length
of the inverted L-shape strip, the
impedance matching can be improved
and wideband operation
characteristics can be obtained.
Figure 3(b) shows the simulated
return loss characteristics Of the
antenna for various feeding point
(Lf) location values varying from
1 to 4 mm. The variation Of feeding
point can provide the tuning
capability for upper band
impedance matching without affecting
the return loss characteristics in
lower band.

實作與測量
The measured and simulated return
loss values in terms of frequency
are compared in Figure 5.There
exists good agreement between the
two data sets. The result shows that
10dB return loss bandwidths are 580
MHz (2250 '" 2830 MHz) at 2540 MHz
and 1100 MHz (4900 '" 6000 MHz) at
5450 MHz.
The obtained bandwidth is wide
enough to cover Wibro (2300 - 2390
MHz), WiMax (2500 - 2700 MHz),
SDMB (2605 - 2655 MHz), 2.4GHz
WLAN (2400 - 2483 MHz) and 5.2 /
5.8 GHz WLAN (5150 - 5825 MHz) at
the same time.
問題:為什麼模擬的頻寬會比較好,是不是
有關製程還是在計算上錯誤,是否還能做出
更好的。

The measured radiation patterns in the x-y and y-z planes at operating
frequencies Of 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz, 5.5 GHz are shown in figure
5.Patterns are good enough to be used for wireless application.

結論
A compact wideband planar monopole antenna was developed for
WiBro, SDMB, WLAN, and WiMAX applications. The antenna size
is reduced by folded Configurations Of a modified meander strip and an
inverted L-shape strip which are printed separately on the top and
bottom sides Of a substrate. The impedance bandwidth is enhanced by
the mutual coupling between the two strips. The proposed planar antenna
occupies a compact volume, has a wide bandwidth, and can be easily
embedded into the casing Of a general WUSB dongle.

心得:

之前就對無線有點好奇了,這次看完這篇後讓我知道了很
多無線傳輸的知識,如:共振跟回波等等。雖然研究比較
不屬於這方面不是關於這面的,但是我相信這對我成長也
是很有幫助的。
