WALT:
1.Make safe choices in
different situations.
1.Understand the possible
dangers from making the
wrong choices.
Sometimes it is
difficult to make
safe choices…
What difficult choices
have you made?
How did you make the
right choices?
What would have
happened if you had
made the wrong
choices?
Let’s put our heads together to
help Annie make the right
choice…
Raj: ‘wow, look at these matches
I’ve found in the kitchen, why
don’t we try lighting them Annie’
What do you think
Annie should do?
CHOICE 1:
Annie: ‘no, I’m not so sure…I
think they might be dangerous!’
Annie and her friend choose
not to play with the
matches.
CHOICE 2:
Annie: ‘yeh, cool, let’s try to
light them!’
Annie and her friend decide to light the
matches. Annie badly burns her fingers
and has to go to hospital.
CHOICE 3:
Annie and Raj light the matches and
watch them burn until they go out.
They were lucky this time!
Next time they may Not be So LUCKy…
Never play with matches!!
CHALLENGING CHOICES
In your groups, you are going to practise
acting out some choices in role plays.
Some may be good choices…
Some may be difficult choices…
Some choices may be the wrong ones…
BUT…
The important thing is that you
THINK hard about your choices.
These are the choices you need to
think about.
1.
‘Let’s explore the building site’ whispered Shivani to her friends,
‘it’ll be so exciting!’
2. ‘Wow, these brightly coloured sweets I’ve found in mum and dad’s
bedroom look good’ said Nina excitedly, ‘shall we find out what
they taste like?’
3. ‘I know a really good game’ laughed George, ‘skateboarding down
the stairs, no-one will ever know, it’ll be great fun!’
4. ‘Oh look’, said Abdi anxiously to his friends as they walked
home from school, ‘that person is following us, what shall we
do?’
5. ‘I’ve found this yummy looking pink drink in the garage, I don’t know
what it is – shall we try drinking it to see what it tastes like?’ asked
Jack.
6. ‘Hey, you’ve kicked the football into the road Lewis – you’d better
run and get it!’ shouted Priyal angrily, ‘we want to get on with the
game!’
Remember…
1.Decide who is playing the roles
2.Decide what you want to say
3.Think about what the choices are
You have 10 minutes to practise
your mini plays.
You will then be performing them to
the class.
GOOD LUCK!
