NOTE:
These colors are already in
this template’s color scheme.
Our primary colors are maroon
and white.
We use gold as our secondary
color.
The accent colors are ones we
use in our palette for variety.
View our web site for how we
use them.
Uncalibrated monitors may not
display these colors accurately.
Introduction
Use the pre-made text boxes
for each section of your poster.
The pre-made text boxes are
grouped with the headings
they are under to maintain
alignment.
To move these groups click
anywhere in the paragraph text
box under the heading you
want moved, then click the
outer most box that is
highlighted (your cursor will
look like four arrows) -- that will
select the paragraph text box,
the black line and the headline
text box at the same time -click and drag to where you
want the information to be
located on the poster.
If you need a new text box you
can insert one by going to the
Insert pull-down menu and
selecting Text Box. You will
get a cursor; place it anywhere
on the screen and start typing.
The fill color should be set to
No fill and the line color
should be set to No line. There
should be no border on the text
boxes.
The font color should be black
and the font size should be
something that will be visible
from 4 feet away (30 point
minimum).
Purpose of Study
When you have the text written
to your satisfaction, make sure
you have the formatting of the
text correct. Use a left aligned
format for a clean look.
The text needs to be indented
0.5 inches. To do this, go to the
Format drop-down menu,
choose Paragraph and under
the Indentation category type
in 0.5 in the Before Text box.
Results
Be sure to have someone
other than yourself carefully
read your text before you send
your file to be printed. Poster
size prints are expensive and
typos, misspellings, poor
grammar, etc. are better
caught before the file has been
printed.
Materials and Methods
There are different background
colors that you can choose to
use. To do this, go to the
toolbar on the Home tab,
under Slides click the drop
down arrow beside New Slide.
The slides are named by the
color of their background.
Choose the color you want by
clicking on it.
If you change your mind or
want to see a different color
background go to the toolbar
under the Home tab, under
Slides click the drop down
arrow beside Layout. Choose
the color you want by clicking
on it.
Conclusions
Do not distort (squash or
stretch) the Fairmont State
logo. Hold SHIFT when
enlarging or reducing the
graphics to constrain the
proportions.
Do not remove the logo from
the top left of this poster.
