ADJECTIVE / NOUN
AGREEMENT
Review of articles
definite/indefinite
• Definite articles in Spanish = el, los, la, las
• Indefinite articles in Spanish = un, unos,
una, unas
• To make nouns plural add “s” if it ends with
a vowel.
• To make nouns plural add “es” if it ends
with a consonant.
Gender Agreement
In English, you say “the red shirt.”
In Spanish, you say “the shirt red”
ADJECTIVES GO AFTER THE
NOUN!!!!
Adjective/Noun Agreement
• Adjectives that end in “o” are masculine.
ex. aburrido, blanco, feo

el chico aburrido
- To make the adjective feminine change the
“o” to “a”.
ex. aburrida, blanca, fea
la chica aburrida
las chicas aburridas

• Adjectives that end in “e” are the same for
masculine and feminine nouns.
• ex. verde, inteligente, interesante
