The goal of this project is to assist in creating an energy
independent America. This will be done by designing a new
combined heat and power source for residential applications that
is not only efficient and clean, but also affordable.

Key Features: Combined Heat and Power sources (CHP)
provide a solution to many aspects of our countries energy
crises. However, even though they have garnered praise as a
clean energy alternative, the reality is that they are not widely
used. This is due to the face that the cost of producing these
systems, as well as the installation and operation, make them
impractical for most residential applications.
Our team proposes to create an affordable alternative by
designing a system which utilizes fuel cell power and could be
produced easily with a pultrusion process. This would enable
the entire unit to be affordable to the everyday homeowner
while having other benefits such as clean energy, and reliable
heat in power in areas prone to weather related power
outages.
