Things we’ve done
I. 2006-2007
a. Two teachers:
Chemistry & Mathematics joined the ILLIPS
b. Four teachers:
Two English teachers (Panel heads), two
Biology teachers (Panel Head of Biology &
Co-ordinator of Life Wide Learning) attended
DOLACEE tutor-training programme
c. In-house workshops (9 sessions with 3
hours each session) were conducted for Panel
Heads of different disciplines

II. 2007-2008
a. Two teachers:
Integrated Humanities & Chemistry joined the
ILLIPS and took part in the Mentoring Program
Mode 2 (Co-planning & Lesson Observation)
b. In-house workshops (9 sessions with 3 hours each
session) were conducted for Teachers of different
disciplines using English as the MOI

II. 2007-2008
c. Two teachers, one is the English Panel Head,
attended another ILLIPS program – Language
and Literacy: Classroom Applications of
Functional Grammar
III. 2008-2009
In-house workshops (9 sessions with 3
hours each session) were conducted for all
English Teachers
Strategies
• Ensure the awareness and readiness of
colleagues of all subjects to offer better
language help to students
• Set up the priority list of target groups,
panel heads being the first batch of
teachers to be trained
Strategies
• Empower the panel heads; to make
them realize the significance of
language awareness in the content
subjects and share the responsibilities
within the panel
• Create collaboration between
colleagues of English department and
teachers of other subjects
