1. Back pain
2. Muscle spasm
3. Tendinitis
4. General relaxation
PATIENT PREPARATION
Position of the patient
Prone lying with pillow under the abdomen to
keep the spine in slight flexion.
Position of the therapist
Walk standing position
Draping
All parts of the body except massaging area
should be covered .

DIRECTIONS FOR MASSAGE
Stroking
From shoulder region to gluteal region
Effleurage
1. Midline of lumbar region to Inguinal region
2. Central part of the back to supra clavicular region
3. Middle of the back into axilla
4. From lateral side of the back into Supraclavicular
area
