GROW Saturday Workshops
How it works
 Attended by 40-80 middle school participants, usually all female
 Participants are split into groups, around 10-12 students per group
 Groups rotate through a variety of activity sessions throughout the day
 K-State faculty & Students design and facilitate activities for the participants
What should an activity look like?
 Related to the theme of the event
 Hands-on, appropriate for age group
 45-50 minutes in length
GROW & EXCITE Summer Workshops
 Takes place in June, 3 days, Wednesday – Friday
 Participants attend activities in groups of 10-12 students, by age
 GROW – middle school
 EXCITE – high school
 Faculty & student led activities take place during business hours
 No set theme, purpose is to expose students to a variety of STEM careers and disciplines
 Activity Sessions can be 1-3 hours in length, and can be split into multiple sessions
 We provide small budget for activity supplies
SUCCEED “Women in STEM” events
 Evening social events for undergraduate and graduate student
 Can add academic or professional development component
 Tailored to fit your interests or area of expertise
