• The band started out as Coltrane’s Wig but
renamed to Medski Martin and Wood
• Medeski Martin and Wood got started in
1991.
• Their musical style is Jazz
• Their music covers a broad range of genres,
often fusing jazz with hip hop, funk, soul and
rock to create danceable grooves.
• Medeski Martin and Wood effortlessly
straddle the gap between avant-garde
improvisation and accessible groove based
jazz.
