Faculty Teacher of the Year (Resident)
 Good mentor for the behavior of a physician.
 Has been a great role model for the past 5 years.
 A great surgeon but remains humble in the face of both
complications and successes. Provides clear
explanations to complex decisions. Cares greatly for his
patients. Hopefully will continue to collaborate in the
future despite being 'competition'.
 Does an outstanding job of encouraging residents in the
OR to constantly improve. He corrects as needed, but
also encourages us with the things we do well. He gives
an appropriate amount of autonomy to residents in clinic
and his approach to discussing difficult issues with
patients in clinic stimulates honest and frank discussions
regarding choices for treatments and outcomes.
Faculty Teacher of the Year (Resident)
 Takes great interest in the training & development of
residents & does everything he can to help us get better.
 Has been a foundation of my surgical education.
 Dedication to our education is evident & greatly
appreciated by all the residents. Has been integral to my
education as a surgeon and physician.
 Cares about his patients as though they are family, and
treats all with respect. The surgeon I aspire to be like.
 Always encourages performing at a high level. Gives
residents abundant hands on time in the OR.
 I hope to be as good someday
 Clinically savvy and beloved by the residents
 A model of humility and patient centered care

Outstanding Surgical Educator
Has been fantastic to have as a teacher for the last
five years. Appropriately demands professionalism
and literature or guideline backed clinical decisions.
Is diplomatic & a resident advocate almost to a fault.
A good friend.
Gifted teacher with uncanny ability to teach
residents where their knowledge ends & then adding
the next level of things to learn.
His high level of enthusiasm for guiding residents
and medical students is apparent in his demeanor &
conduct. A patient teacher in the clinic and OR.
Outstanding Surgical Educator
Always made things fun & educational.
Went out of his way to teach me & allowed me to
get involved as much as possible.
Kept me busy, challenged my knowledge &
comfort level, & pushed me to exceed
expectations.
Excellent teacher & gets students involved. Great
attitude.
Made a good effort to include me & talk to me.
Answered my questions, Helpful. Willing to talk to
me about my career choice. Good teacher.
