The wheel is located in Falkirk, Scotland.
It is a rotating boat lift that moves boats from
the Forth and Clyde Canal to the Union Canal
or vise versa.
Things that make the wheel interesting.


Uses Archimedes’ principle (“floating objects
displace their own weight in water”) to balance each
hole in the arms.
Only uses as much energy to rotate as boiling eight
kettles of water.

There are a total of 6 parts built.
The base.
 The two “arms with holes”. (Identical)
 The Front holder.
 The Cylinder.
 The Bottom.

