Junior Year and College Preparation
Counselors will be meeting with all juniors
individually to discuss post high school plans and
PSAT and Mock ACT results.
 Counselors will then make a determination as to
which test (SAT or ACT) is the best fit for your child
and propose a targeted date for testing.
 All students must take an SAT, ACT, or the
Accuplacer exam by the end of junior year (new
Maryland state requirement for college and career
readiness).


with counselors re: test of best fit and timing
Spring:
 Naviance supermatch college search, about me (resume,
game plan)
 College fair
 College visits
 Consider

 Work on college essays, complete the senior
information summary and finish resume in
Naviance
 Complete common application (if applicable) and
match to Naviance account




Grade 12:
Fall:
 Meet with Mrs. Carey to request your transcripts
 Attend large group meeting to review the college application
process
 Attend “open lab” sessions to work on college applications
 Counselors will check in to get an application update (October)
 Take

again,
