Create a situation ( using board drawing, narrative or situation ).
Check that Ss are clear about this context ( by asking qs ).
Introduce the target meaning without using the target language.
Use concept questions to check that Ss understand the concept.
Note that the meaning comes first, before form – the learners
understand the concept being dealt with, and feel the need for a
piece of language to express it, before the teacher focuses on the
target language itself.
When the concept is clear, elicit a way of conveying that
information in good English.
Drill and correct around the class.
Generate further sentences on the target structure from the same
situation.
