Education
School of Chemistry in 1980, School of Mathematical modelling in Biology and Medicine
in 1984; graduated in Biology at the University of Milano in 1987
In 1988 awarded a scholarship fund for doctoral studies at the University of Milano and in
1992 awarded the Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology.
Since 1993 till 1996 he was post-doc associate researcher .
In 1997 he awarded a position of Researcher (BIO06) at the Faculty of Science of the
Milano University, where he is presently working.
Professional experiences
Since 1992 till now he collaborates to the didactics of the Faculty of Science lecturing
Zoology, Animal Biology and Experimental Biology Lab titled “Invertebrate Immunity”
(class and laboratory).
Since 2001 till 2009 he is tenured of the course “Animal Biology” (CCS:Biotechnology).
at present he is tenured of the course “Animal Biology” G25-20B G26-4B G27-19B G2825B (CCS:Agriculture)
Research fields
His research activity is mainly performed in the frame of Cell Biology , and its focused to
the settling of synthesis methodologies, treatments and structural/functional
characterizations of Cells using nanocomposites and nanoparticles . The main research
line deals with the Gold-based nanomaterials. All these materials are investigated for
applications in the tumour thermo-therapy field and in location of various immune
committed cells types.
He is co-author of 30 papers published in peer-reviewed journals, 20 conference
proceedings and two books. He has been invited as speaker at International Workshops
and he serves as referee for outstanding scientific journals.
