ACCESS TO THE CHARLEMAGNE BUILDING
Please note that there are no parking facilities available. All journalists and their equipment will be required to undergo a thorough security check upon arrival. Please ensure that you arrive with enough time to go through security.
3. ACCREDITATION
The personalised, non-transferable badge issued by the Council of the European Union for the Brussels Conference on Afghanistan will also grant access to the Charlemagne building on 4 October. This badge is issued following the procedure explained in the Media Advisory. Journalists holding European Commission press accreditation and/or European Council 6 month badge will also have access. There is no possibility on the day of the conference to get accreditation. The badge should be worn visibly at all times. No access will be permitted without an appropriate identification badge.
4. EVENTS 4.1 Signing of the State Building Contract: 13:30-13:50
This signature ceremony will take place in Charlemagne building on the first floor and will

Press may attend and record this ceremony and the brief statements but there will be no Q&A.
4.2. Empowered Women, Prosperous Afghanistan 14:00-18:00

It is open to the press and will be livestreamed. Simultaneous interpretation into English, Pashto and Dari will be available at this event.

. 5. PRESS CORNERS
There will be two press corners in the Charlemagne building. One will be located on the ground floor, one on Level 01. Both press corners will be available as from 12:00. To book a press corner, send your request to the Press and Media officer (contact details below).
6. PRESS WORKING ROOM
In addition to the press centre in the Justus Lipsius building, we also provide a working room in the Charlemagne building (Level 0, MANSHOLT room). Wi-Fi will be available.
7. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
From 12:00 onward, a series of
videos
related to women's empowerment will be screened on Level 02 throughout the afternoon.
