Il soggetto è la città con le geometrie, i suoni e i materiali che la compongono
in un ripetersi ritmico di elementi sempre uguali eppure sempre diversi.
Situazioni semplici e ripetitive che restituiscono una complessità a volte
indecifrabile eppure familiare e calda come una sinfonia, immediata
nell’animo, irriguardosa dell’intelletto ma sempre in grado di stupire.
Its topic is the city and the geometry, sounds and materials that go to make
it up, in a rhythmic repetition of elements that are always the same, yet at
the same time always different. Simple and repetitive situations that have a
complexity that, while sometimes indecipherable, are still familiar and warm
like a symphony, going directly into the soul, disrespectful of intellect but
always able to amaze.

sistema della facciata ventilata applicata alla collezione Ultra iCementi.
Ariostea, in line with the company’s investment programme and the launch
of new products, is also giving its headquarters a facelift with the adoption
of a ventilated facade system using the Ultra iCementi collection.

Il progetto architettonico affidato allo studio Marco Porpora
Architetti, attua una rilettura dei corpi fabbrica in senso
orizzontale, per conferire l’idea di velocità e dinamismo
all’azienda.Lastre di color grafite tagliano ritmicamente la
facciata prevalentemente impostata sul colore grigio chiaro,
giocando in maniera alternata tra le finestre esistenti e
circondando senza soluzione di continuità tutta la palazzina.

The architectural project entrusted to Marco Porpora
Architects Studio involves rearranging the building’s
cladding slabs horizontally to give an impression of the
company’s energy and dynamism. Graphite grey sheets,
rhythmically interspersed against the predominantly light
grey facade, alternate between the existing windows to
seamlessly cover the entire building.

scostamento verso l’esterno
dell’intero volume, ad eccezione della
linea di cintura alla base dello stabile,

già all’esterno una piacevole

l’area amministrativa e conferisce un
senso di leggerezza e sospensione al

The ventilated system shifts the
building’s entire internal volume
outwards, with the exception of the
belt line at the base of the building.
Right from the outside, the
new design for the company’s
headquarters shows a pleasing
distinction between the exhibition
space and the administrative space,
and confers a sense of lightness and
suspension to the upper part of the
building.

Up è l’acronimo inglese scelto da Ariostea per
sintetizzare la propria esposizione al cersaie
2015. Il significato “prospettive inaspettate”
gioca sull’impostazione scenica dello stand e
sulla prospettiva progettuale di Ultra nel mondo
delle costruzioni e dell’arredamento.
Up is the English acronym chosen by Ariostea
to summarise its exhibition at cersaie 2015.
The meaning “unexpected perspectives” plays
on the scenic setting of the stand and on the
design perspective of Ultra in the construction
and furniture world.

Marco Porpora Architetti ha interpretato questo progetto cercando di assemblare i concetti di leggerezza e
grandezza per restituirli in maniera univoca ai visitatori dello stand. Un tunnel espositivo, creato esclusivamente
grazie al “fluttuare” delle lastre Ultra con diverse angolazioni attorno all’asse principale dello spazio, avvolge
completamente il cammino mentre tutti gli oggetti si distaccano dalla struttura portante principale per diventare
nastri allungati e distesi come a sintetizzare l’essenza del movimento e della velocità.
Marco Porpora architects studio interpreted this project trying to assemble the concepts of lightness and
greatness to recreate them in an unambiguous way for visitors of the stand.
An exhibition tunnel, exclusively created thanks to the Ultra “floating” sheets placed at different angles around
the main axis of the space, completely surrounding the path while all objects are detached from the main bearing
structure to become stretched and extended ribbons as if to encapsulate the essence of movement and speed.

Berlin is the cradle of European creativity and design.
In the last few years, numerous initiatives have been put in place in
the German capital to promote new ideas and encourage young
entrepreneurs to come forward.
Ariostea, which has always had a strong commercial presence
throughout Germany, recently commissioned a new showroom in one
of the most productive and lively districts of Berlin, Sarotti Höfe.
La struttura post-industriale di questa ex fabbrica di cioccolato mantiene
inalterato il romanticismo e la stratificazione che la caratterizzano. Lo studio
Marco Porpora Architetti cercando di esaltare questa peculiarità ha proposto un
sistema leggero composto da uno sciame di setti ceramici, scanditi da un ritmo
luminoso verticale. Le pareti cieche che circondano lo spazio sui tre quarti del
perimetro, sono state trattate in modo da veicolare all’interno la luce naturale e
riflettere la corte dell’edificio; su di esse la batteria di esagoni disposti a diverse
altezze offrono una panoramica completa della gamma Ultra.

The post-industrial structure of this former chocolate factory
still retains its characteristic romantic air and stratified layout.
With the aim of highlighting these features, the architectural
firm entrusted with this project, Marco Porpora Architecture
Studio, created a lightweight panel system consisting of a series
of ceramic sheets, vertically positioned in a rhythmic sequence
to create a light and airy feel. The construction of the blind
walls around three quarters of the showroom’s perimeter allows
natural light to filter in and reflect off the central area. The walls
feature an array of hexagons arranged at different heights,
offering an unbroken view of the Ultra range.

L’ambiente in cui le lastre possono trasformarsi in piani di lavoro, piani di cottura ad induzione,
lavabi e tavoli, dando vita a capolavori della cultura dell’abitare.
Le superfici in ceramica Ultra non temono l’usura, non assorbono, non si macchiano, non disperdono
sostanze, sono antibatteriche, antigraffio, facili da pulire, in grado di resistere alle alte e basse temperature e
non si modificano o cambiano aspetto nel tempo per una immutata sensazione tattile ed estetica.
Here, ceramic sheets become work surfaces, induction
cooking surfaces, even sinks and tables – new masterpieces
that enhance our way of living.
Ultra ceramic surfaces are wear and tear resistant, nonabsorbent, stain and scratch resistant, antibacterial, easy
to clean, resistant to high and low temperatures and do not
release substances, or alter their appearance over time. These
properties ensure a long-lasting beautiful feel and visually
pleasing appearance.

Ci sono momenti tecnologici in cui un prodotto segna
il passo allo stato della tecnica modificando il nostro
stile di vita. E stato così con l’avvento dell’automobile,
della televisione, di internet o degli smartphone
per esempio. Crediamo che ragionevolmente
ed egualmente si possa guardare, con similare
ammirazione, al salto tecnologico che ha consentito
al settore ceramico di passare dai formati tradizionali
a quelli giganti che contraddistinguono il progetto
Ultra. La scala di grandezza dei materiali supera ora
ampiamente i riferimenti antropometrici del Modulor
teorizzato da Le Corbusier nel 1948, toccando i
3 metri di altezza e rapportandosi non più solo al
fattore umano ma all’edificio nel suo complesso,
consentendone la risoluzione dell’interfaccia esterna
oltre alla vestizione degli spazi interni.
There are technological moments in which a
product makes the leap to being state of the art
and changes our life style. For example, it was so
for the automobile, the television, the Internet and
smartphones. We feel that you could reasonably
and equally look, with similar admiration, to the
technological leap that has allowed the ceramic
sector to move on from its traditional sizes to giant
ones, like those that distinguish the Ultra project.
The scale of proportions is now far larger than the
anthropometric reference points of the Modulor
originally theorized by Le Corbusier in 1948. These
reach 3 metres in height and relate not only to just
the human factor, but to the building in it’s entirety
allowing the resolution of the external interface as
well as the dressing of the internal spaces.

La duttilità della tecnologia ULTRA
consente di adattare le varie collezioni di
prodotti sviluppate da Ariostea generando
progetti che spaziano dal semplice
pavimento o rivestimento di piccole e
grandi superfici, all’applicazione su oggetti e
complementi d’arredo.
Realizzare veri e propri manufatti o
installazioni con un nuovo concetto di
leggerezza e prestazione tecnica coniugata
è ora possibile avendo accesso anche alle
prestazioni superiore date dalla tecnologia
ceramica. La natura stessa del materiale
consente inoltre al progettista di declinare
ognuna di queste possibilità in ambienti
interni ed esterni sviluppando superfici
omogenee, curve e anche retroilluminate.
The flexibility of ULTRA technology allows
the various product collections developed
by Ariostea to be completely adapted to
generate projects ranging from simple
flooring or coverings for large or small
surfaces to object-based applications and
furnishing accessories.
Using this new concept that combines
light weight and technical performance, it
is now possible to create genuine products
or installations with the added benefits that
come with ceramic technology. The very
nature of the material also lets designers
apply each of these possibilities in indoor
and outdoor environments to develop
smooth, curved and even backlit surfaces.
