•A project, relative to agriculture, completed
outside of the classroom.
•Can be ENTREPRENEURIAL or PLACEMENT.
•Allows students to learn new skills, earn
money, compete for recognition (FFA
Proficiency Awards), and earn FFA Degrees.
•Current SAEs of FFA members include
animal production, crop production,
gardening, landscaping, mechanics, food
service, woodworking, sales and service,
golf course maintenance, wildlife
management.

Kathy developed a project in
which she is conducting a
research study on the effects of
manure applications on corn at
various times of the year on 28
acres of corn. She has worked
closely with Extension Specialist

Placement

Turf Management
Bill is currently employed at
Badger Creek Golf Course as a
Groundskeeper. He is responsible
for routine course maintenance,
course construction, turf and
nursery care, fertilizing, and
irrigation.
FFA OPPORTUNITIES
FFA is the largest vocational student
organization in the world.
FFA is the largest, most active group in
the high school.
FFA provides opportunities for its
members to develop leadership, prepare
for careers, travel, meet new people, have
fun, earn scholarships, serve the school
and community, and more.
Leadership Development

Improve your public speaking skills
Become a State FFA Officer.
Learn leadership skills through an SAE.
Attend leadership development workshops such
as State and National Conventions, State
Leadership Camp, Discovery Conference,
Greenhand Conference, Success Conference,
Washington Leadership Conference.
TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES
Travel to many of the leadership
conferences just mentioned.
