Natural Gas Heating System
Operations
Overview
• The natural gas heating process involves
controlling air temperatures within an enclosed
living environment.
• The basic process has been used for centuries.
• As technology evolved, inventors learned
to use electricity, fans, ignition systems,
and natural gas to create more efficient
gas
heating systems.

Natural Gas Heating System
Operations
• Natural Gas furnaces use the principle of “forced
air heating” to heat homes and buildings. Air is
drawn into the furnace, heated, and forced
throughout the building through ductwork.
• Several components within the furnace allow the
air to be directed and controlled.
