Mission of Spanish Optical Society

• To stimulate the development of Optics, particularly scientific research and industrial applications.

• Spreading and organizing the Spanish participation in international activities in the field of Optics.

• Collaborating with other Organisations and Societies in the diffusion of Science and Technology.

Activities via Committees

( volunteer basis )

• Journal “Optica Pura y Aplicada” (Pure and Applied Optics).

• Conferences: Optics, Spectroscopy, Colour and Optoelectronic .

• Open mailing list “OPTIRED”.

• Specialised meetings, workshops, seminars, courses and summer schools.

• Support to thematic networks.

• Lobbying.

• Education in Optics.

• Establishing bridges with industry.

• Cooperation with standardization bodies.

What can SEDOPTICA do?

• Collaborate in the development of photonics and particularly in nanophotonics: – Creating a specific committee in the subject.

– Supporting/organising meetings (workshops, conferences, etc.).

– Joining people to work together.

– Spreading the subject among the members to get more people involved.

• Offer the association structure and services.

• Any other idea that may be useful. • Membership.
