Comprehensive Explanation
Implement Advanced Surface Guidance and Control System (ASMGCS) Level 2
• This objective aims at implementing A-SMGCS Level 2 which
consists of an airport surface surveillance system (i.e. A-SMGCS
Level 1) complemented by an A-SMGCS control tool to detect
potential conflicts on runways and intrusions into restricted areas
and provide the controllers with appropriate alerts;
• The applicability area is presented in Table 8 of Part IV Annex B of
the ESSIP 2012 document;
• Initial operational capability - 01/2007, Full operational capability 12/2017
