Healthcare Information System
Just for your information
• There are 9,034 hospitals in Japan. 5.5% of
them have EMR systems. (20.9% of hospitals
with more than 400 beds have EMR systems.)
But, almost all of them are not interoperable.
• Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Labor wants
EMR systems to be semantically interoperable.
• AS a first step to this, MHWL plans to reward
health institutions which provide patients
healthcare information burned onto CDR.
