MHP (Multimedia Home Platform)
유럽 방송 기구 DVB에서 만들어진 양방향 TV 미들웨어 표준
– Java 기반으로 규격이며, 이후 다른 양방향 TV 미들웨어 표준의 근간
이됨

GEM (Globally Executable MHP)

MHP에서 유럽방송환경에만 쓰이는 요소 제거하여 OCAP과 ACAP에
인용하기 인용이 용이하도록 한 표준임.
OCAP (OpenCable Application Platform)
미국 케이블 방송 기구인 CableLabs에서 제정한 양방향 TV 미들웨어
표준
– GEM에 OpenCable 환경 요소 추가하는 식으로 제정됨

ACAP (Advanced Common Application Platform)
미국 방송 기구인 ATSC에서 제정한 양방향 TV 미들웨어 표준
– GEM에 ATSC 지상파 방송환경 요소 추가하는 식으로 제정됨

인 면보다 컨텐츠 제작 환경과 사업적 환경에 따른 호환성 문

AV Contents와 함께 연동형 Application Recording
사용자 Behavior 제어 (사용자 Profile에 따라 광고 Skip 금지)
– Application을 통한 과금 처리 (사용자 Application 금지)
– AV Contents와 함께 연동형 Application + Video Clip Recording

• 특정 시간이 될 때마다 Playback 하던 AV를 멈추고 광고 Video Clip 제시
• Back-end System에 PSTN이나 IP로 광고 본 내역 송출
– Skip, Fast-Forward, Fast-Rewind 등을 하지 않은 정확한 Data 송출 가능

OCAP-DVR에 기반한 진보된 EPG

• EPG에서 Resident App로 나가지 않고, 바로 시리즈물 예약녹화 가능

• 순차적인 프로그램 진행과 관계없이, 일정한 시점에서 Forward, Backward로 Skip 가
능 (타임머신 TV 기능)

광고 Skip 방지 기능
• 방송사업자의 명령에 따라서 Fast Forward/Backward 제한

프로그램 속 개별 기사 선택 시청
• 매거진 형식의 프로그램을 재생할 경우, 사용자가 특정 키를 누르면 비디오 재생이 일
시 정지되고 프로그램 속의 개별 기사 목록이 전체 스크린 메뉴에 제시됨.
• 사용자는 프로그램 진행 순서에 관계없이 원하는 기사를 선택/시청할 수 있거나 메뉴

성인 컨텐츠의 일부 구간 재생 막음
• Parental Rating으로 컨텐츠의 특정한 부분 (미성년자 관람불가 내용)의 재생을 원천
적으로 막거나 컨텐츠와 함께 보내진 Segment 정보를 이용하여 편집된 버전을 재생.

사용자는 리모컨 버튼 하나만 누르면, 예고편을 보면서 바로 관련 컨텐츠를 예
약
시청자가 TV를 보는 동안 MHP 어플리케이션은 Background에서 실행되고 있

예고편이 방송된다는 신호를 MHP 어플리케이션이 받아 스크린 위에 대화창을
띄움.
(대화 창에는 추가 정보를 보려면 특정 키를 누르라는 지시사항 공지됨)
예고편을 보던 시청자가 특정 키를 누르면, 예고편 홍보 관련 추가 정보가 링크
되어 있는 메뉴 제시됨 (링크정보는 EPG에 실려옴)
