 2004. 3월 Elsevier사에서 전문을 링크시킨 초록-색인 웹 데이터베이스인
Scopus 베타버전 발표
 4대륙 21개 세계 유수 도서관들과 2년간의 긴밀한 협조아래 Scopus를
설계
 4,000개 출판사에서 출판되는 13,450종 (2004. 8월 기준, 13,425종)
 학술지에 수록된 2,500만 건의 초록을 제공하는 세계 최대 웹
데이터베이스임
 1999년 이후 현재까지 최근 5년간 논문의 참고문헌, 피인용 횟수 및
인용문헌 정보 제공(2005년 12월까지 최근 10년으로 확대할 예정임)

3. 사용하기 쉬운 이용자 중심의 Interface
(1) 검색된 논문을 저널명, 저자명, 출판년도, 문헌유형,
주제분야별로 각각 검색건수를 따로 표시하여
그 안에서 원하는 필드로만 다시 검색 가능
(2) 검색결과를 테이블 형식으로 제공하여
출판년도, 관련도, 저자명, 수록년도, 피인용횟수
등으로 쉽게 정렬 가능
(3) 논문에 표시되어 있는 모든 저자명이 다 포함되어
있으며, 저자명을 클릭하면 SCOPUS에 수록된
해당 저자의 다른 논문 검색가능
(4) Search History를 통해 검색식의 조합, 편집, 보존 및
특정 검색식에 대한 자동 알림서비스 설정 가능
