  allows faculty members to easily incorporate online elements into their courses incorporates a pedagogical model (T5): promotes a task centred approach in the use of technology, including feedback delivered in a number of ways

The New Classroom workshop series

 

Learning Task Designer Tool

introduces faculty to T5 and gives access to the tool can be mainly done online, with 2 face-to-face coaching sessions for feedback and discussion  sessions are offered in March and April – go to http://lt3.uwaterloo.ca/faculty/ and click on registration tab for workshop dates/ to register online.

Use of online components by Arts

Learning Task Designer Tool

 Approximately 21 Arts faculty members have participated in The New Classroom workshop series  All of the above have used or are planning to use the tool in their course(s)

WebBoard or Blackboard

 A handful are using WB or BB independently of the T5 model, but the majority of these are interested in pursuing the T5 approach via the Learning Task Designer Tool next term

Distance Ed

 18-34 online Arts courses are currently being developed  Technology cross-over to on-campus courses?

Components

 TD and TM tools (homegrown) as the gateway   Tool sets to support online activities:  Off the shelf (Blackboard/Angel, WebBoard); homegrown (CM _Tools, built by DE) UW infrastructure (authentication, student information) External repositories for content and tools 

Support model
