Completing Surveys:
What is Quality Control?
• You want to feel confident about your data!
• Your data is only as good as what you
collect
• Garbage in, Garbage out…
• Quality control means you take all the
steps needed to have high quality data
• All survey questions/items are complete
and clearly marked
• You watch over how surveys are filled out
in the field
Data Collections Guidelines
• Surveyors to circle the number
(code) on the forms, not the text
• All questions and table cells
should be filled out
• Even when condition is not
present, “0” for NO should be
circled
• Please read Data Collection
Guidelines in your manual
