Premise A (main idea): Chandler’s preemptive
strike against his ex-girlfriend
Premise structure
When an opportunity comes along or
something happens to someone,
s/he tries to do something to solve the
problem or achieve the goal.
But when something in the plan goes wrong,
s/he gets into a bigger trouble and loses big.
Predicament (Problem)
Because
Chandler
doesn’t have
enough
courage to
break up with
his ex-girlfriend
at once,
Action
… he lies to
her that he’s
going to
Yemen.
Complication 1
And after his
girlfriend
believes him,
she helps him
pack.
Complication 2
The situation
gets really out
of hand after
her decision to
personally see
him off to the
airplane,
Complication 3
Chandler
has to buy
a $2,100
airplane
ticket
Resolution
… and fly
to Yemen.
Premise A: Chandler breaking up
with his ex
Because Chandler doesn’t have enough
courage to break up with his ex-girlfriend
at once, he lies to her that he’s going to
Yemen. And after his girlfriend believes
him, she helps him pack. The situation
gets really out of hand after her decision
to personally see him off to the airplane.
Chandler has to buy a $2,100 airplane
ticket and fly to Yemen.
