To promote ebXML implementation for facilitating e-business in Asian Region.

(1) To contribute to the ebXML specification from Asia. (2) To establish the bridgehead for promoting ebXML implementation in Asia.

Organization to provide secure, trusted, reliable and value-adding IT infrastructure for efficient global trade and logistics, founded on July, 2000.

・

Members (6): Trade-Van (Taiwan), Tradelink (Hong Kong), Crimsonlogic (Singapore), KTNET (Korea), CIECC (China), TEDI (Japan)

・

Adopting ebXML -1 st phase: MS, CPPA, Registry -Future: BP, CC

・

Completed ebXML POC project.

・

Corresponding specification: MS, CPPA, Registry, BP, CC Korea National Central Registry and Repository -based on V1.0, planned to be upgraded to V3.0

・

Domain Registry & Repository -Trade Domain Registry by KTNET Remarks (Current Status, Others)

・

Completed the pilot run to provide the cargo tracking services between Trade-Van and KTNET.

-Now developing Secure Cross Border Transaction system between Trade-Van and Tradelink.

POC demonstration was did at 7 th ebXML seminar at Seoul in Korea.

INNODIGITAL developed POC system.

Projects XR2 (XML Registry & Repository Project) (NII, Taiwan) IFX (Interactive Financial Exchange Project) (TCA, NII) POC of ebXML MSG specification (GCOM, Taiwan) General Activities

This project is a POC project to judge adoption of ebXML specification to next IFX (Interactive Financial Exchange Project) of ROCBA (Republic of China Banking Association).

Corresponding specification: R&R V1.0, CPPA V1.0

・

Sponsor: Department of Industrial Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs

This project will start actually, after past 1 year This project is supported by Ministry of Economic Affairs.

This project will adopt ebXML MS specification.

POC of binary collaboration (From Payer to Bank)

Two kinds of message flow (Normal delivery and Reliable delivery)

This POC was based on MS V1.0.

Remarks (Current Status, Others) Schedule: -Phase 1: 18 months from April, 2000 -Phase 2: 12 months from Oct, 2001

・

Schedule: -Start: July, 2002 -Finish: December, 2004

・

This POC is on going now.

・

In near future, This POC intends to upgrade to MS V2.0.

Projects CECID (Center for E Commerce Infrastructure Development) (Hong Kong) General Activities

・

CECID is a R&D center at the University of Hong Kong, sponsored by Hong Kong Government and HKU.

・

Objectives: To establish an ebXML infrastructure to support an open standard for document exchange between businesses.

・

Deliverables: -Local ebXML Registry -ebXML Business Router (Software engine to execute BPSS/CPPA, BPSS Editor) -ebXML API Library Remarks (Current Status, Others)

Background to adopt ebXML: ebXML will become international standard in future.

KASUMI’s business is mainly managing Chain store.

・

Testing has started from Nov. 2001.

Participants: NTT communications, Nippon Travel Agency, Railway Technical Research Institute (RTRI) The Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF)

Both Iron and Steel industries of Japan and Korea are studying Steel material trading system between Japan and Korea

Function: Inspection results exchange (first trial message)

・

Manager of Japan: The Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF)

Manager of Korea: Korea Iron and Steel Association (KOSA)

・

This project will adopt ebXML framework (e.g. BP, MSG)

・

Korea is much eager to adopt ebXML framework.

・

This project was postponed until June 2002. Reason: KOSA is busy to develop Steel B2B Pilot Project/ISP (Information Strategy Plan).
