The Application The Methodology Anticipated launch – October 1, 2009 for the 2010-2011 academic year Not a new application – PROFILE questions, computation and data delivery adapted for international students International application is built in PROFILE registration All questions presented in English; responses must be in English Parental data required from all international and Canadian students International students pay same fees as domestic students; Fee Payment Codes can be used Schools can sign up on Service Options Form International student process includes Noncustodial PROFILE (NCP) data collection for schools that participate in NCP IDOC can be used for international students. Document images scanned, no key entered data College Board will continue to support PDF version of International Student Financial Aid Application Includes most questions from current CSS International Student Financial Aid Application Students answer in currency of country in which they live If parent country of residence not U.S. or Canada – families receive questions about expenses Schools can use/add Supplemental Questions Students access application at collegeboard.com Same payment options as for domestic filerscredit/debit card, check from U.S. bank Fee Payment codes can be used Education USA centers and Open Doors can assist with access and payment issues Need analysis based on standard Institutional Methodology approach INAS will support the International IM comp; all options to be set in software IM tables converted in IM parent contribution based on country’s coefficient Coefficient calculated by dividing country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by population Data provided to schools in U.S. dollars, converted once annually prior to start-up Table of currency rates included in PROFILE User Guide; rate for applicant in data file Schools can update and recalculate parent contribution in software as they do for domestic PROFILE filers No student contribution computed for international students No FNARS produced for international students Separate Data Delivery files for domestic and international students List of participating institutions on finaid online Certification of Finances PDF posted to finaid online
