• Standard Age Score (SAS): This mechanism
removes the inherent differences of
chronological age across Year 7 when the
test is taken. Therefore students of different
ages who gain the same SAS have done
equally well.
• Mean CAT result: The average score for the
three components: Verbal, Quantitative and
Non-Verbal.

Tutor comment: Unnamed should take great confidence from this report. She has clearly worked hard to achieve at least her target grade in all
subjects. Unnamed is focussed in lessons and reflects on what she has learnt. Both of these skills help her to complete tasks set effectively and
benefit from learning opportunities. During tutor time, Unnamed is by nature one of the quieter members of the group; she has however worked
very well with the other Year 7 and 8 girls to complete the World Cup tutor challenge.
To ensure Unnamed continues this good start to her time at Nailsea School I would encourage her to join extra-curricular clubs in Year 8. This will
help her develop her confidence in working with other students and allow her to apply some of the skills she has learnt during lessons in new and
exciting challenges.
Target for improvement: 1. To decide which extra-curricular clubs to join in the Autumn term. This will allow Unnamed to apply the skills she has
learnt in lesson time to practical experiences and develop her confidence in working with others.
2. To improve her current score in Technology to 4B by the end of Year 7. Unnamed can achieve this target by remembering to ask questions
throughout the lesson and thus deepen her subject understanding.
