TUJUAN ISTWG 2010 - 2015
1. Enhanced economic growth, trade and investment
opportunities in harmony with sustainable development,
through policies, innovative R&D and technologies, and
knowledge sharing;
2. Better quality of life and a cleaner environment;
3. Safe and secure society, emphasizing the importance of
measures for infectious diseases and natural disasters;
4. Human resource capacity building;
5. Enhanced international science and technology networks;
6. Improved level of connection between research and
innovation, involving and encouraging the potential of
SMEs; and
7. Strengthened technological cooperation and achievement
of best practices in strategic planning for IST projects and
programs.

Usulan perubahan ISTWG yang diajukan oleh Rusia menjadi
“Policy Partnership on Innovation (S&T and Innovation)” –
Indonesia tidak setuju, dan akan dibahas lagi pada 43rd ISTWG
di Taipei tgl. 21 – 23 Agustus 2012
APEC ISTWG akan membuat VISI, MISI dan STRATEGIC
PLANNING - masih terus dalam tahap pemikiran akan
dibuat/diwujudkan.
APEC ISTWG akan meningkatkan networknya, tidak hanya
institusi pemerintah, namun juga akan melibatkan industri –
diagendakan pada 43rd APEC ISTWG Taipei
