Tech Refresh Enhancements

• To relieve site personnel of repetitious system or troubleshooting activities, many support functions are now automated or performed by the SMCOs at the TFMS Consolidated Service Desk: – Included are all SUP mode script functions and anything requiring “Root” password – Onsite SA and TO staff may be asked by the SMCOs to assist with activities such as fileserver swaps, HW/SW diagnostics, workstation reboots, etc – Hewlett Packard Open View Operations (HP OVO) agents will be installed on the new workstations and fileservers. • To enhance system security, the new equipment does not support removable media such as CDs, DVDs, or thumb drives. On the right side of the GNOME panel there is a speaker icon. Click on the icon to open up a dialog box to mute or adjust the volume as needed.
