Abstract
• This presentation illustrates the
motivations for a Private Data Cloud to be
used in a highly scalable Cloud & Service
Oriented Networks in order to deliver
converged services.

Introduction
•
•
Isolated - User Information and Service related data in a Telecom
infrastructure is mostly managed in a silo fashion.
Diverse - Each service being delivered often produce diverse
customer/user related data and are not managed in a central environment.
– Service specific preferences, sensitive service related information of user, etc.
•
•
•
Redundant - Blending of services further produce redundant data and are
again forced to be siloed.
Carrier Grade – The service infrastructure is designed to offer carrier grade
service. (High performance, Availability)
High Scale – With ICT convergence, the services and application sector will
see explosion of user information to be managed.
– Even some kinds content (Photo, video) will be considered part of user profile
information.
•
•
Business Model – Operator will not manage these user information from a
public cloud to satisfy the above requirements. User information is the key
asset for Operators.
OTT SP User Information Security & Privacy – Due to the faster service
innovation by OTT service providers, users have risked their profile
information with them.
– Many cases of user information hacking.

Summary
• Need for a standard Private Data Cloud
which can interoperate with existing
telecom systems like IMS, SDP,
BSS/MSS, App Stores, etc.
• Consider development of this architecture
and standard specifications within GISFI
Cloud & SeON WG.
