Class Procedure-when you walk in
• Pick up the bell work and handout
in the small table.
• Pick up your portfolio book on
your right.
• Sharpen your pencil.
• Work on your bell work quietly.

Class Procedure- Start the class
• When the bell work time is over,
Hsu lǎoshī will say,”wǒ mén
shàng kè!”(Let’s start the class)
• You should greet her by saying,
“Hsu lǎoshī haǒ.”
• You will hear Hsu lǎoshi greet you
back by saying “nǐ mén hǎo.”
Practice: Start the Class
Hsu: wǒ mén shàng kè.
Students: Hsu lǎoshī haǒ!
Hsu: nǐ mén hǎo!
Class Procedure- Quieting the class
• As you are actively engaged in
the learning process. Hsu laoshi
will frequently need your attention
for instruction. When Hsu laoshi
need your individual attention,
she will raise her hand.
Class Procedure- Quieting the class
• When you see Hsu laoshi raise
her hand, you will do the
following.
1. Stop what you are doing.
2. Eye on Hsu Laoshi.
3. Listen attentively.
Class Procedure- Dismiss the class
• The bell does not dismiss you.
Please do not stand by the door
before the bell rings.
• Hsu lǎoshī will dismiss you by
saying “wǒ mén xià kè” (the class
is over.)
• You will say goodbye to her by
saying “Hsu lǎoshī zài jiàn.”
Class Procedure- Exchange Pencil
• If you forgot to sharpen your
pencil during the bell work time,
please don’t do it during the
instruction time. Simply raise your
hand with your pencil, Hsu laoshi
will exchange a sharpened pencil
with you.
Practice: dismiss the class
Hsu: wǒ mén xià kè.
Students: Hsu lǎoshī zài
jiàn!
Hsu: nǐ mén zài jiàn!
