Silence
Silence, in the
WWK study, is
thematically
defined as the
opposite of
knowledge.
Silence
In retrospect,
Goldberger determines
WWK Silence to be a
lack of choice about
whether to speak or
not to speak versus a
strategic or chosen
silence.
Receptive Knowledge
It is important to
empower others; it is
the act of giving
rather than receiving
that leads to a
greater sense of their
true capacity for
knowing and loving.
Receptive Knowledge
In defining the self,
receptive knowers
critique their
tendency to
subordinate their
own perceptions and
judgments to those
of others.
Subjective Knowledge
Women in the
subjective knowledge
stage often feel off
balance due to the
fact that their concept
of self is constantly
changing.
Subjective Knowledge
The predominant
learning mode for
subjective knowers is
one of listening and
watching authorities
for guidance.
Procedural Knowledge
Procedural
knowledge is less
objective than
subjective
knowledge.
Procedural Knowledge
Procedural
knowing relies on
“just knowing”. The
truth is easily
accessible.
Constructed Knowledge
Constructed
knowledge is attained
through the integration
of receptive and
procedural knowledge
with silence.
Constructed Knowledge
Constructed
knowers integrate
knowledge from
external authorities
with what they feel
to create their own
construction of self
and voice.
