GETTING AROUND
Getting around in space is
one of the key elements in the
design of a space habitation.
It defines points or surfaces
of control, and area’s of
being unable to influence the
movement.

The private rooms provide the
solitude one needs at times. The
space can be small as there is

ORBITAL PATH
A distance of 400 km above the
Earth’s surface requires a 90
minute orbit at an orbital speed of
roughly 27.000 km/h.
At this distance the space station
will orbit the Earth 16x a day.
Because of the Earth’s own rotation
the view is different every time.

DANGERS
MICRO METEORITES & SPACE DEBRIS
Micro meteorites coming in from
outer space can really damage the
space station as they come in with
increadibly high velocity. Space
debris from earlier orbital missions
has less speed but higher mass
and could easily damage the hull of
the a spacecraft.
