Choices
Matthew 7:13 " Enter by the narrow gate; for
wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads
to destruction, and there are many who go in by
it. 14 "Because narrow is the gate and difficult is
the way which leads to life, and there are few
who find it.
Joshua 24:15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve
the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom
you will serve, whether the gods which your
fathers served that were on the other side of the
River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land
you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will
serve the LORD."
Matthew 12:30 "He who is not with Me is against
Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters
abroad.
Matthew 10:37 "He who loves father or mother
more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who
loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy
of Me. 38 "And he who does not take his cross
and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
Matthew 26:69 Now Peter sat outside in the
courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying,
"You also were with Jesus of Galilee." 70 But he
denied it before them all, saying, "I do not know
what you are saying." 71 And when he had gone
out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said
to those who were there, "This fellow also was
with Jesus of Nazareth." 72 But again he denied
with an oath, "I do not know the Man!" 73 And a
little later those who stood by came up and said
to Peter, "Surely you also are one of them, for
your speech betrays you." 74 Then he began to
curse and swear, saying, "I do not know the
Man!" Immediately a rooster crowed.
Matthew 25:14 " For the kingdom of heaven is like a man
traveling to a far country, who called his own servants
and delivered his goods to them. 15 "And to one he gave
five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each
according to his own ability; and immediately he went on
a journey. 16 "Then he who had received the five talents
went and traded with them, and made another five
talents. 17 "And likewise he who had received two gained
two more also. 18 "But he who had received one went
and dug in the ground, and hid his lord's money. 19
"After a long time the lord of those servants came and
settled accounts with them. 20 "So he who had received
five talents came and brought five other talents, saying,
'Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained
five more talents besides them.'
21 "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful
servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make
you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your
lord.' 22 "He also who had received two talents came and
said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have
gained two more talents besides them.' 23 "His lord said
to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have
been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over
many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' 24 "Then he
who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I
knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not
sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
25 'And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the
ground. Look, there you have what is yours.'
26 "But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked
and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not
sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 'So
you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers,
and at my coming I would have received back my own
with interest. 28 'Therefore take the talent from him, and
give it to him who has ten talents. 29 'For to everyone
who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance;
but from him who does not have, even what he has will be
taken away. 30 'And cast the unprofitable servant into
the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing
of teeth.'
Joshua 24:14 " Now therefore, fear the LORD,
serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away
the gods which your fathers served on the other
side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD!
15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD,
choose for yourselves this day whom you will
serve, whether the gods which your fathers
served that were on the other side of the River, or
the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you
dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve
the LORD."
Joshua 1:5 "No man shall be able to stand before you all
the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be
with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 "Be
strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall
divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their
fathers to give them. 7 "Only be strong and very
courageous, that you may observe to do according to all
the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not
turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may
prosper wherever you go. 8 "This Book of the Law shall
not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it
day and night, that you may observe to do according to all
that is written in it. For then you will make your way
prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 "Have
I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do
not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is
with you wherever you go."
Joshua 24:16 So the people answered and said: "Far be it
from us that we should forsake the LORD to serve other
gods; 17 "for the LORD our God is He who brought us and
our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of
bondage, who did those great signs in our sight, and
preserved us in all the way that we went and among all
the people through whom we passed. 18 "And the LORD
drove out from before us all the people, including the
Amorites who dwelt in the land. We also will serve the
LORD, for He is our God." 19 But Joshua said to the
people, "You cannot serve the LORD, for He is a holy God.
He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your
transgressions nor your sins.
20 "If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, then
He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He
has done you good." 21 And the people said to Joshua,
"No, but we will serve the LORD!" 22 So Joshua said to
the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that
you have chosen the LORD for yourselves, to serve Him."
And they said, "We are witnesses!" 23 "Now therefore,"
he said, "put away the foreign gods which are among you,
and incline your heart to the LORD God of Israel." 24 And
the people said to Joshua, "The LORD our God we will
serve, and His voice we will obey!"
Matthew 7:21 " Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord,
Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does
the will of My Father in heaven. 22 "Many will say to Me
in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your
name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many
wonders in Your name?' 23 "And then I will declare to
them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who
practice lawlessness!' 24 " Therefore whoever hears
these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a
wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 "and the
rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and
beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded
on the rock. 26 "But everyone who hears these sayings of
Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man
who built his house on the sand: 27 "and the rain
descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat
on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."
