The Last Supper
24 Hours that
Changed the World
When the time came, Jesus
and the apostles were sitting
at the table. He said to them,
“I wanted very much to eat
this Passover meal with you
before I suffer. I will not eat
another Passover meal until
it is given its true meaning
Luke 22:14-20 (NCV)
in the kingdom of God.”
Then Jesus took a cup, gave
thanks, and said, “Take this
cup and share it among
yourselves. I will not drink
again from the fruit of the
vine until God's kingdom
comes.”
Luke 22:14-20 (NCV)
Then Jesus took some
bread, gave thanks, broke it,
and gave it to the apostles,
saying, “This is my body,
which I am giving for you.
Do this to remember me.”
Luke 22:14-20 (NCV)
In the same way, after
supper, Jesus took the cup
and said, “This cup is the
new covenant that God
makes with his people. This
new covenant begins with
my blood which is poured
out for you.”
Luke 22:14-20 (NCV)

The Miracle of
The Last Supper
The Story of
The Last Supper
We come to the table
remembering we were slaves
to sin (living for ourselves)
and leave the table free from
sin as we choose by grace
to follow our Savior.
The Last Supper
• Points us to the cross
(Passover = freedom)
• Invites us to live our life on
new terms (disciple of Jesus)
• Reminds us to tell and re-tell
the story of Jesus
The Lord Jesus, on the night he
was betrayed, took bread, and
when he had given thanks, he
broke it and said, “This is my
body, which is for you; do this in
remembrance of me.”
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (NIV)
In the same way, after supper he
took the cup, saying, “This cup
is the new covenant in my blood;
do this, whenever you drink it, in
remembrance of me.” For
whenever you eat this bread and
drink this cup, you proclaim the
Lord’s death until he comes.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (NIV)
