THE ENEMY WITHIN
Matthew 5:43 " You have heard that it was said,
'You shall love your neighbor and hate your
enemy.' 44 "But I say to you, love your enemies,
bless those who curse you, do good to those who
hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use
you and persecute you, 45 "that you may be sons
of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun
rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain
on the just and on the unjust.
Matthew 22:35 Then one of them, a lawyer,
asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying,
36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in
the law?" 37 Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love
the LORD your God with all your heart, with all
your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 "This is the
first and great commandment. 39 "And the
second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as
yourself.' 40 "On these two commandments hang
all the Law and the Prophets."
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own
image; in the image of God He created him; male
and female He created them.
Ephesians 1:22 And He put all things under His
feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to
the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of
Him who fills all in all.
1 Samuel 16:6 So it was, when they came, that he
looked at Eliab and said, "Surely the LORD's
anointed is before Him." 7 But the LORD said to
Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the
height of his stature, because I have refused him.
For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man
looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD
looks at the heart."
KJV 2 Timothy 2:23 But foolish and unlearned
questions avoid, knowing that they do gender
strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not
strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach,
patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that
oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give
them repentance to the acknowledging of the
truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves
out of the snare of the devil, who are taken
captive by him at his will.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and
let every one of you be baptized in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you
shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 "For
the promise is to you and to your children, and to
all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God
will call." 40 And with many other words he
testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved
from this perverse generation." 41 Then those
who gladly received his word were baptized; and
that day about three thousand souls were added
to them.
Philippians 2:12 work out your own salvation
with fear and trembling;
1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in
the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of
the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the
world -- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life -- is not of the Father but is
of the world. 17 And the world is passing away,
and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God
abides forever.
2 Thessalonians 2:9 The coming of the lawless
one is according to the working of Satan, with all
power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all
unrighteous deception among those who perish,
because they did not receive the love of the truth,
that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason
God will send them strong delusion, that they
should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be
condemned who did not believe the truth but had
pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Corinthians 4:3 But even if our gospel is veiled,
it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose
minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not
believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of
Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on
them. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but
Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your
bondservants for Jesus' sake. 6 For it is the God
who commanded light to shine out of darkness,
who has shone in our hearts to give the light of
the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of
Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in
earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power
may be of God and not of us.
Matthew 15:12 Then His disciples came and said
to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were
offended when they heard this saying?" 13 But
He answered and said, "Every plant which My
heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
14 "Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the
blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will
fall into a ditch."
2 Timothy 4:1 I charge you therefore before God
and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the
living and the dead at His appearing and His
kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season
and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with
all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will
come when they will not endure sound doctrine,
but according to their own desires, because they
have itching ears, they will heap up for
themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their
ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to
fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things,
endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist,
fulfill your ministry.
Romans 16:17 Now I urge you, brethren, note
those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary
to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid
them. 18 For those who are such do not serve
our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by
smooth words and flattering speech deceive the
hearts of the simple.
Colossians 2:6 As you have therefore received Christ
Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in
Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught,
abounding in it with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest anyone
cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit,
according to the tradition of men, according to the basic
principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For
in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10
and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all
principality and power. 11 In Him you were also
circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,
by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the
circumcision of Christ, 12 buried with Him in baptism, in
which you also were raised with Him through faith in the
working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 And
you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision
of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him,
having forgiven you all trespasses,
1 Corinthians 9:27 But I discipline my body and
bring it into subjection, lest, when I have
preached to others, I myself should become
disqualified.
Romans 2:1 Therefore you are inexcusable, O man,
whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge
another you condemn yourself; for you who judge
practice the same things. 2 But we know that the
judgment of God is according to truth against those who
practice such things. 3 And do you think this, O man, you
who judge those practicing such things, and doing the
same, that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do
you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and
longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God
leads you to repentance? 5 But in accordance with your
hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up
for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of
the righteous judgment of God, 6 who "will render to
each one according to his deeds"
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before
the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may
receive the things done in the body, according to
what he has done, whether good or bad.
1 Peter 4:17 For the time has come for judgment
to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with
us first, what will be the end of those who do not
obey the gospel of God? 18 Now "If the righteous
one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and
the sinner appear?"
Mark 16:16 "He who believes and is baptized will
be saved; but he who does not believe will be
condemned.
1 Peter 3:21 There is also an antitype which now
saves us -- baptism (not the removal of the filth
of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience
toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus
Christ,
Acts 8:36 Now as they went down the road, they
came to some water. And the eunuch said, "See,
here is water. What hinders me from being
baptized?" 37 Then Philip said, "If you believe
with all your heart, you may." And he answered
and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of
God." 38 So he commanded the chariot to stand
still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down
into the water, and he baptized him. 39 Now
when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of
the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch
saw him no more; and he went on his way
rejoicing.
