Haggai 1:7-8 Thus says the LORD of hosts, “Consider your ways! 8 Go up to the mountains, bring wood and rebuild the temple, that I may be pleased with it and be glorified,” says the LORD. Haggai 1:9 “You look for much, but behold, it comes to little; when you bring it home, I blow it away. Why?” declares the LORD of hosts, “Because of My house which lies desolate, while each of you runs to his own house.” Haggai 1:10-11 “Therefore, because of you the sky has withheld its dew and the earth has withheld its produce. 11 I called for a drought on the land, on the mountains, on the grain, on the new wine, on the oil, on what the ground produces, on men, on cattle, and on all the labor of your hands.” 1:1-15 2:1-9 2:10-19 1st Sermon 2nd Sermon 3rd Sermon Question: How can your houses be paneled while God’s house lies desolate? Zechariah 1:9 Then I said, “My lord, what are these?” And the angel who was speaking with me said to me, “I will show you what these are.” Zechariah 1:10-11 And the man who was standing among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are those whom the LORD has sent to patrol the earth.” So they answered the angel of the LORD who was standing among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have patrolled the earth, and behold, all the earth is peaceful and quiet.” Zechariah 1 Zechariah 6 Revelation 6 Four horsemen – Red – Red – Sorrel – White Sent out by God to patrol the earth Four chariots – Red – White – Black – Dappled Four spirits of heaven going out to patrol the earth Four horsemen – White – Red – Black – Ashen (green) Called by the four living creatures around the throne Zechariah 3:1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. Anj.fil. LeSitnu !j'F'h HaSatan Zechariah 3:2 And the LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” Zechariah 3:3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and standing before the angel. Zechariah 3:4 And he spoke and said to those who were standing before him saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” Again he said to him, “See, I have taken your iniquity away from you and will clothe you with festal robes.” “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” 8 It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. (Revelation 19:7-8). Zechariah 3:8 Now listen, Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who are sitting in front of you-- indeed they are men who are a symbol, for behold, I am going to bring in My servant the Branch. In that day the Branch of the LORD will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth will be the pride and the adornment of the survivors of Israel. “Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And do justice and righteousness in the land. 6 In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell securely; And this is His name by which He will be called, ‘The LORD our righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23:5-6). Zechariah 3:9-10 “For behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua; on one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave an inscription on it,” declares the LORD of hosts, “and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. 10 In that day," declares the LORD of hosts, "every one of you will invite his neighbor to sit under his vine and under his fig tree.” Zechariah 4:1 Then the angel who was speaking with me returned and roused me, as a man who is awakened from his sleep. Zechariah 4:2-3 He said to me, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see, and behold, a lampstand all of gold with its bowl on the top of it, and its seven lamps on it with seven spouts belonging to each of the lamps which are on the top of it; 3 also two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl and the other on its left side.” Zechariah 4:4-5 Then I answered and said to the angel who was speaking with me saying, "What are these, my lord?" So the angel who was speaking with me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” 5 Zechariah 4:6-7 Then he answered and said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts. 7 What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’” Zechariah 4:8-9 Also the word of the LORD came to me saying, 9 “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will finish it. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.” Zechariah 4:10 For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven will be glad when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel-- these are the eyes of the LORD which range to and fro throughout the earth. Zechariah 4:11 Then I answered and said to him, “What are these two olive trees on the right of the lampstand and on its left?” Zechariah 4:12 And I answered the second time and said to him, “What are the two olive branches which are beside the two golden pipes, which empty the golden oil from themselves?” Zechariah 4:13-14 So he answered me saying, "Do you not know what these are?" And I said, “No, my lord.” 14 Then he said, “These are the two anointed ones, who are standing by the Lord of the whole earth.” rh'c.YIh;-ynEb. Literally, “sons of oil” Zechariah 6:9-11 The word of the LORD also came to me saying, 10 “Take an offering from the exiles, from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah; and you go the same day and enter the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, where they have arrived from Babylon. 11 And take silver and gold, make an ornate crown, and set it on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest.” Zechariah 6:12 Then say to him, “Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘Behold, a man whose name is Branch, for He will branch out from where He is; and He will build the temple of the LORD.’” Zechariah 6:13 “‘Yes, it is He who will build the temple of the LORD, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne. Zechariah 14:2 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. Zechariah 14:3 Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. Zechariah 14:4 In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. Malachi 4:5-6 Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. 6 And he will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the land with a curse. As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.” (Matthew 17:9). And His disciples asked Him, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” (Matthew 17:10). And He answered and said, “Elijah is coming and will restore all things; 12 but I say to you that Elijah already came, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wished. So also the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” (Matthew 17:11-12). Then the disciples understood that He had spoken to them about John the Baptist. (Matthew 17:13).
